Help Me to Help You (or, 9 Easy Ways to How Make Your Stationer Happy)

I want to make your life as easy and stress-free as possible when it comes to getting your wedding stationery sorted out. However, there are lots of very easy ways that you can help me to do this (making it a faster, easier process for both of us!)

  1. Reply to your messages quickly. There are things I will need from you (e.g. info/ approval) before I can move forward. If you take longer than 48hours to reply, this may have a detrimental effect on your order completion date
  2. If something's not right, say so ASAP. It's easier to fix a problem earlier rather than later
  3. If you've been given a deadline for something, stick to it.
  4. Pay your invoices on time
  5. If you won't be able to meet deadlines/pay invoices on time/reply to messages at some point during the process (e.g. you're on holiday), let me know so I can adjust timelines accordingly, and stop me from panicking when I don't hear from you for a week or two!
  6. Don't micromanage. I understand that you want it to be perfect, and that you want to be involved, but having to run every tiny decision past you for approval and constantly make alterations will really slow production. Once we've got a design in place (which we will do before production begins), please trust me to make it beautiful! I'll do what I can to keep you in the loop, but certain things, like the exact placement of randomly arranged items like flowers or butterflies, aren't really practical to run by you before I put them in place. By all means, tell me how you want things- don't think I don't want your input because I do, I want to get everything as close to how you imagine it to be- but please, if you're going to do that, tell me everything in one go, and at the start before I begin work on your order!
  7. Note down any unusual spellings of names etc so save confusion/double checking later on
  8. Check proofs very carefully, paying particular attention to
    1. Names
    2. Dates
    3. Postcodes
    4. Addresses
    5. Email addresses
    6. Phone numbers
    7. Anything else that I won't know is wrong!
  9. If you know you'll be ordering other matching items, let me know ASAP so I can book you in. Certain time of year get very busy, and production slots are on a first come first served basis. It also means that I can order in materials for the matching items, meaning that if that particular colour, pattern or 'thing' gets discontinued or otherwise becomes unavailable, it won't affect your order too much :)

See, nothing difficult or scary, right? Just a few simple things that will help me to process your order quickly and accurately, and it's mainly just communication based things anyway.

Hope that helps you understand some of the things that will help you to help m when it comes to creating your wedding stationery. If you have any questions, please do let me know :) xxx
